Detailed itinerary

1

Painting village of the municipality of Calheta. Here we pass through the center where we see the beautiful gardened houses and the beautiful Church.
From the center we see the beautiful mountains of the southern side of the Paul da Serra, covered with Urze and Eucaliptal.

2

Stunning landscape over the deep valley excavated by a Ribeira that descends from the Paul da Serra. A view that starts from the mountains to the blue of the Atlantic Ocean.
We can also observe the agricultural land as well as some local fauna such as lizards, and predators.

3

Previously practically abandoned village that is going through a revitalizing phase.
We can see here the beautiful houses with their gardens and fruit trees, cultivated land and the beautiful valley of the Funda Gorge with its cows to graze.
There are also nice cafes to invite to a stop (optional).

4

Absolutely not to miss on this tour.
In this promontory most west of the island we have a wonderful view over the coastal mountainous area of the Vereda do Pesqueiro filled with its ancestral agricultural terraces where once was grown vineyards and vegetables.
Being a dividing zone between North and South, we often see a meteorological difference between both sides of the landscape.
