Aquila Safari offers a fantastic opportunity to see the Big 5 and experience the beauty of the African bush. Please note that the entrance ticket to the reserve is not included in the tour price. This ticket must be paid directly at the Aquila office on the morning of the safari which is about R2390pp. Your journey begins with a scenic drive through the mountains.
On arrival, you’ll be welcomed with refreshing drinks and enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast before setting out on your 2.5-hour guided 4x4 safari. With the help of your expert guide, keep your eyes peeled for lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras, hippos, and if luck is on your side even a leopard.
After the safari, relax and indulge in a tasty buffet lunch showcasing local flavours. The adventure continues as we travel to the Cape Winelands, where you’ll unwind with a wine tasting at a picturesque estate. Sample some of the region’s best wines while taking in panoramic views of vineyards and surrounding mountains.

Your adventure begins with a morning pickup between 8:00 AM and 8:30 AM from your accommodation in Cape Town (please be ready by 7:50 AM). Relax and enjoy a scenic drive through the rolling landscapes and mountain passes of the Western Cape as you make your way to Aquila Private Game Reserve — home to Africa’s famous Big 5.
Upon arrival, enjoy a welcome drink before joining a 2–3 hour guided safari in an open 4x4 vehicle. Led by an experienced ranger, you’ll have the opportunity to spot lions, elephants, rhinos, buffaloes, and leopards, as well as zebras, giraffes, springboks, and many bird species roaming freely across the reserve.
After the game drive, savor a delicious buffet-style lunch at the reserve’s restaurant before starting your return journey. On the way back, stop at one of the Cape Winelands’ charming estates for a relaxing wine tasting experience, where you can sample a selection of local wines surrounded by stunning vineyard views.
By late afternoon, you’ll return to Cape Town with unforgettable memories of wildlife, nature, and the taste of South African wine.
