This museum is the first in Malta to use Augmented Reality technology. Through the mobile application which can be downloaded on your phone or experienced through the tablets provided by the site, one can relive what medical life was like in 17th and 18th century Malta under the Knights of St John. The hospital was the most important aspect of their life, since they themselves started off as Hospitallers in the Holy Lands back in the 12th century before becoming military men and being victorious again the Ottoman Empire during the famous Great Siege of 1565.
