7:00 AM: Departure from the city of Baños de Agua Santa by private vehicle or from the city of Quito.
9:30 AM: Arrival at the first station "Control Caspi", located at 3,200 meters (10,498 feet).
10:00 AM: Continue by vehicle to the Interpretation Center "Mariscal Sucre", located at 3800 meters (12,467 feet). Visit the center for 30 minutes to learn about the flora, fauna and history of the Cotopaxi volcano.
11:00 AM: Travel by vehicle to the parking lot located at 4500 meters (14.763 feet).
11:45 PM: Start of the walk to the José Rivas Refuge, the only refuge of the Cotopaxi, located at 4800 meters (15,748 feet). The ascent lasts about 1 hour.
1:00 PM: Arrival at the José Rivas Refuge.
1:30 PM: In favorable weather conditions, you can continue the hike to the glaciers of the volcano.
2:00 PM: Descent of the volcano to the parking lot, lasting approximately 1 hour.
3:00 PM: Lunch.
6:00 PM: Arrival in the city of Baños or Quito.
