Detailed itinerary

1
Stop 1

Guided visit to the Pena Palace and grounds (select ticket option ). The Pena Palace is one of the best representations of 19th century Romanticism in Europe. Being the second-highest point in the Serra de Sintra (over 500m above sea level), it will amaze you with its unique architecture and spectacular views. King Ferdinand II - the king-artist - fell in love with Sintra, and following the purchase of the property, decided to build a unique castle and park, with 500 plant species from all corners of the world. The palace incorporates Manueline and Moorish architectural influences, that together will give you an atmosphere of “a thousand and one nights.”. An unforgettable experience.

2
Stop 2

In the center of Sintra you can either stay in the village, view the National Palace or walk to visit Regaleira (tickets not included). Also, a great option is to stay, and enjoy the wonders of this beautiful medieval little town, walking the narrow streets, feel the local atmosphere and then grab a coffee and try local pastry "Travesseiro".

3
Stop 3

Regaleira is a 19th century Villa, known as Palácio da Regaleira. Located in the center of Sintra, it was bought by a Portuguese businessman who was fascinated by secret orders such as Freemasonry and the Templars. Regaleira was transformed into a palace surrounded by gardens, lakes, caves and enigmatic constructions, symbolic places, typical of secret societies and rituals. A unique monument influenced by Romantic, Neo-Gothic and Manueline architecture.
When in Sintra you can walk to see Quinta da Regaleira (self-guided, ticket not included).

4
Stop 4 Pass by

Sintra National Palace is one of the most important royal palaces from the 12th century, built by the moors initially, and later further developed and expanded during different monarchs' reign. This was one of the most important political centers, during the discoveries of the 15th and 16th centuries. It has the most relevant moorish ceramic tiles collection in Portugal.

5
Stop 5

We will stop at Cabo Roca, the westernmost point of continental Europe. After your Sintra's visit, you will stop here to take pictures, get a bit of fresh air, and relax.

6
Stop 6

Cascais will amaze you, with its mix of a little fishing village, together with the sophistication of a place where kings and queens would spend part of their summer. Time to relax and have a nice meal.

7
Stop 7 Pass by

A quick view of Estoril, where kings were living and spies would come to meet during World War II. Fancy James Bond? You will know a bit of history also.
