Comuna 13 was one of the most dangerous neighbourhoods in Medellin just 20 years ago, but it has been transformed to a very colorful vibrant place. The change started when the government built escalators in the area thus connecting the area to the city of Medellin, in fact these were the first escalators installed in Latin America. We will be walking through the Comuna 13, taking in the best views, hip street art and also taking the journey on these outdoor escalators. I've lived in Comuna 13 for most of my life and have witnessed the change with my own eyes, I am happy to introduce you to the way locals and explore the best spots in the area.
