Mr. Giorgi Mshvenieradze is one of exceptional natural/organic winemaker in Georgia. His philosophy is to create highest quality 100% organic products from his own vineyards in western part of the country using ancient Georgian traditional wine making method of fermentation in Qvevri (Clay Vessel). Our guests will have the opportunity to meet Mr. Giorgia personally in his wine cellar, listen to his profound explanations how his wines and sparkling are made and finally to taste 3 or 4 (depends on availability) different wines from his very limited production, the guests will end up the tasting with sampling of Georgian grape vodka called Chacha.
We will continue our wine adventure driving towards village of Zeindari for our second wine tasting and a lunch. Vintners & Vagabonds (Igavi Wines) is run by Aidan Raftery, winemaker from the UK who moved to Georgia and settled with his wife in village of Zeidari. Aidan will tell us his story how he decided to move to Georgia and Imereti region in order to restore ancient traditional wine making traditions using Qvevris (Clay Jars). We will savour 2 or 3 (upon availability) western Georgian wine varieties Aidan's exceptional production line, which is very limited and only couple of thousands are bottled, most off the wines go to export to EU countries and Australia. Gourmet lunch will be served during the tasting, you will experience amazing dishes from local cuisine.
