Travel from Prague to Křivoklát Castle. The mighty Křivoklát Castle is a National Cultural Monument with over 800 years of history as a royal palace and a state prison. During the 80-minute guided tour you will learn about its fascinating past and associated figures, including King Wenceslas, Charles IV, and the Furstenberg family. Highlights of the tour include the expensive Royal Chapel of the Coronation of the Virgin Mary with its stunning altar featuring the crowned Virgin Mary and the infamous Augustus’ prison and torture chamber with replicas of medieval torture instuments.
You will also visit the gallery of Gothic art in the Knight’s Hall, the Stříbrnice treasury, the grand Gothic Royal Hall, and an impressive Library which houses 53 thousand volumes of books and manuscripts.
