St. Ambrose was a bishop of Milan and one of the most important personalities in the Church of the 4th century. He built in the place where Christians, murdered during the Roman persecution, were buried. Hear the fascinating history of transformations and legend about a white marble column with two holes, which is said to be made by the Devil. Numerous chapels of the basilica represent almost every existing styles from Neoclassicism, through a Baroque dome decorated with frescoes to a Renaissance forms by Bernardino Lanino. The Basilica di Sant’Ambrogio is less famous than the Duomo di Milano, but for sure it is full of treasures and interesting history.
