In the morning, set out with your guide from your hotel at 8:30am, and take a private car to the Museum of the Tomb of the Nanyue King. Excavated in 1983, this tomb dates back to the Western Han period and reveals the 2,200-year-long history of Guangzhou. Then you will move to visit the Yuexiu Park where there is a landmark of Guangzhou, the Five-Ram Statue.Your next stop is the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, an academic temple built during the Qing Dynasty by the 72 Chen clans to house clansmen preparing for their imperial examinations. As you explore the complex, discover traditional Canton architecture, and get a close look at the rich carvings, pottery, and engravings that adorn nearly every square inch.
Afterwards you will head for Guangxiao Temple that is one of the biggest temple near Beijing Road. If you are interested in shopping, you can wander around Beijing Road for a while.
Continue on to Shamian Island, a former British and French colony that dates back a century. After time to wander among the European-style buildings, head to a local restaurant for a lunch of tasty Cantonese dim sum.
