Detailed itinerary

1

This epic tour will start at the majestic Pico´s Fortress, one of the highest points of Funchal´s old city walls, Fort São João Batista, more commonly known as Pico Fortress, and ending at the president of Madeira official house.

The fort was built between 1632 and 1640 when Portugal and Spain were under the same rule. This construction was built and used to protect the people and the land against pirate attacks.

A brief stop will be made at the fort. During this stop prepare to be amazed by a panoramic view of the city of Funchal.

2

The second shortstop will be at Funchal´s Cathedral, having been built in the late 15th century, this is one of the few structures that survived the period of colonization of Madeira.

3

A mandatory stop at the Farmer’s Market will be made because this historical place is one of Madeira’s business cards.

At this pit stop be prepared to see, taste, and enjoy one of the most typical fruits, and vegetables in Madeira. All sorts of products are sold here, from produce, fish, plants, spices you name it and you´ll find the best that Madeira has to offer.

4

Last but not least important, a stop will be made at the Barreinhas’s bar, where one can enjoy a great snack while enjoying one of the best sea views in Funchal.

5

On the remaining 45 minutes of this trip, there will be an opportunity to experience and pass without stopping in other hot spots of the city, not only the ones mentioned above.
