Get a taste of Africa’s highest peak in just one day! Starting from Marangu Gate, you’ll hike through lush rainforest filled with monkeys, colorful birds, and unique plants. The trek takes about 3 hours to reach Mandara Hut, where you can rest, explore, and enjoy the cool mountain air before descending (about 2 hours) back to the gate.
For faster hikers, an optional short climb to Maundi Crater offers spectacular views of Tanzania and Kenya’s Amboseli plains.
Your driver–guide will pick you up from your hotel in Moshi or Arusha and drive you to Marangu, the gateway to Mount Kilimanjaro. Accompanied by an armed park guide, you’ll enjoy a scenic and leisurely hike through lush rainforest, spotting unique flora and fauna along the way. After approximately 3 hours, you’ll reach Mandara Hut, where you can take in the breathtaking views and fresh mountain air. In the afternoon, descend the trail and return to Moshi or Arusha, where your adventure concludes at your hotel or Airport.
