We will kick things off in picturesque Bidart - a village with a characterful architectural heritage. This seaside resort is filled with charming white houses and their green and red shutters. From Bidart we will walk the coastal path to a lovely Guethary.
Guethary is a tiny, white village located on a rocky coast with stunning sea views - a favorite surfers’ spot. The path continues along the Ocean on top of the cliffs and down into coves up to a beautiful town of Saint Jean de Luz.
In the quiet sea resort of Saint Jean de Luz we will stop to enjoy a fresh, Basque seafood lunch in one of the excellent local restaurants. Afterwards, we will take time to stroll down the streets of the village and listen to the thrilling stories of local pirates - Corsairs, named this way after Johannès de Suhigaraychipi who caught more than 100 British, Dutch and Spanish ships!
We will jump into the van and leave Saint Jean de Luz behind. You will enjoy a spectacular drive along the corniche basque before reaching the border village of Hondarribia.
Hondarribia! It’s high time to discover this picturesque town located right on the border with France. You will visit the fortified part of Hondarribia. Its narrow streets, flowers draped from the balconies and medieval charm creates an extraordinary atmosphere and cultural context. We will also take time to discover a hidden collection of tapestries by Rubens in the castle of Emperor Charles V.
To finish the day we will drive to Donostia through Jaizkibel Mountain, to enjoy incredible views of the ocean and mountains.
