About this experience

This palace was built around 1700 BC and It is believed to have been the home of King Minos and his legendary Labyrinth, where he kept the Minotaur which featured prominently in Greek mythology

After your visit, you will have two hours to visit at your own pace Heraklion City and the Arqueological Museum.

You will be driven to “Amnisiades Park”, where its artists will be ready to offer you a Minoan Day Experience: you will make a stop in their unique kitchen, for some homemade bread degustation (with optional regional olive oil and aromatic oregano to give it a special taste), cretan olives, paspermia salad, and homemade ice tea with Cretan herbs.

They created an area of cultural activities, the Minoan Theater. Visitors will indulge their senses to the beauty and greatness of an important era with a 35 minutes dance and acrobatics performance that you will enjoy before going back to your hotel.

Detailed itinerary

Stop 1

Our guide will take you to the entrance where you can decide to make the tour alone or with a local guide.
The site’s architecture, intricate frescoes, and artefacts evoke a sense of mystery and awe, leaving visitors wondering about the life and rituals of the Minoans who built and inhabited the palace.
Knossos Palace stands out in historical records not merely as a royal residence but as a vibrant epicentre for administration, trade, and culture. Its numerous in-house workshops were bustling hubs where craftsmen fashioned goods destined for trade across the Mediterranean. Adding to its significance, it served as a critical port city, owing to its strategic coastal location. This amalgamation of economic, political, and cultural functions renders Knossos one of Europe’s most essential archaeological sites.

2

You will have time on your own to have lunch, discover the city or visit the Arqueological Museum.
The region itself is lovely, with stunning beaches to discover and a lively town, full of hidden gems from the Venetian period.
Heraklion or Iraklion has undergone a significant makeover in recent years because of the city's increasing prosperity. Infrastructure works have included the redevelopment of the waterfront ( have a nice walk there ), improved roads, and a city bypass to ease traffic congestion and maybe the most important much of the historic center has been turned into pleasant pedestrian strips.

3

Enjoy an incredible artistic performance about the Minoan era and taste some of the typical flavors in Crete.

We turn back time 3,500 years. This history is both a dream and a reality. A journey in time and space. You are invited at the Minoan Theater of the Palace to honour the Great Mother, Goddess Nature. Phaedra, daughter of King Minos welcomes you.

The Minoan ladies dance to honour the Goddess along with the men. Their union, a symbol of equality and love in honour of the Great Mother.

The games will begin. Strength, stamina and intelligence will surface through the bull games, surviving the fatal risks of the game with the sacred bull.
