About this experience

Elafonisi is a peninsula that is often divided into two parts by water, creating the illusion of being its own separate island. It boasts distinctive features such as an exotic beach with pristine white sand and dazzling turquoise waters, reminiscent of the Caribbean. The sand on the beach takes on a pinkish hue in many areas, owing to the millions of crushed shells that contribute to its coloration.

The tour to Elafonisi offers a unique combination of activities, including a visit to a picturesque and ancient monastery, a beach excursion, and a scenic drive through diverse landscapes. Additionally, the tour allows for customization based on the preferences of the customers, providing them with the opportunity to savor authentic Cretan cuisine and create a personalized experience.

Detailed itinerary

1
Stop 1

We will start the tour by visiting Elafonisi beach for approximately 2 hours and then two smaller, less-crowded beaches.
(+driving duration 1,5 hour)
Free access to the beach

2

An additional stop at Chrisoskalitissa monastery (perched on a 35m high rock with boundless sea views) is highly recommended as it’s one of the most beautiful monasteries on the island and also located between the two small beaches I mentioned above.
entrance fee is 2.5€‎

3

Voulolimni is located about 500m northwest of Chrysoskalitissa monastery. It is actually a small crater, surrounded by rocks, forming a small sea lake. That is to say, it is not actually a beach, but the rocky “pool” for the residents of village Chrysoskalitissa.

4
Stop 4

Aspri limni
Aspri Limni is one of the most weird beaches in Crete, that almost nobody knows. This is a small secret beach, located 500m west of Chrysoskalitissa monastery. The nearby exotic Elafonissi beach attracts thousands of visitors. However, nobody has heard of this magnificent neighboring place. The beach has fine white sand and rocks in places and sharp rocks surrounds it, reminding of a small whitish lake inside the sea.

5

On our way back to Chania (through the west coastline of Crete), we can stop at Sfinari beach for lunch at a fish restaurant serving freshly caught fish and seafood. Alternative options for restaurants are available at Falasarna beach. As a result, you will visit from southwest to northwest Crete (you will also enjoy incredible landscapes while driving).
(+ 1 hour driving to reach the restaurant)
(+ 1 hour driving to head back to Chania city)
