About this experience

This is the most comprehensive day-tour that you can take in the Basque Country. This tour can be taken from San Sebastian or Bilbao. We will visit some of the best know and important places in the Basque Coast in a relaxed and informative manner: the Flysch, Gernika and Gaztelugatxe among them! You will enjoy a gourmet lunch included in the price and a coffee break. Finally you will have the option of visiting the Guggenheim museum on your own.

Detailed itinerary

After picking you up in your hotel or residence we will take a short coastal drive enjoying the views, driving by the town of Zarautz and stoping in the town of Getaria, our first stop.

Getaria and walking tour. This coastal town is known for being the birthplace of Juan Sebastian Elkano (first circumnavigation of the world together with Magellan) and Balenciaga dressmaker; also for its medieval streets, grilled fish restaurants and Txakoli wine!

Then we will take a short 10 minutes drive to visit the Flysch of Zumaia, made famous by the TV show Game of Throns. We will take walk down the beach to admire this incredible geological formation

After the Flysch we will hop on the car and we will drive to Gernika. We will take a walking tour in the historic town, symbol of the Basque political autonomy, and infamous bombing that inspired Picasso’s masterpiece

Drive from Gernika to San Juan de Gaztelugatxe

Stop 6

Our next stop will be San Juan de Gaztelugatxe (Game of Thrones) for a pictures stop and coffee break (included in the price)

Stop 7

Finally we will drive to Bilbao to see the Guggenheim museum. At this point you may stay in Bilbao to visit the museum (a couple of hours) and come back by bus after, or you can return to San Sebastian with us after a few pictures of the astonishing building (about 15 minutes)

After Bilbao, we will take the highway to return to San Sebastian. About 1 hour.
