Port for the Kingdom of Navarre in the middle ages, it has an perfectly mantained XIIth century cathedral, which is the departure point for the Coastal Camino de Santiago. It’s also known for its artisan chocolates, old streets, fisherman’s port, and political past.
Biarritz and Saint Jean de Luz are two coastal towns where surfing and fishing are protagonists. Summer destination for all European upper class since the 1850’s, they kept their classy stores and Basque artisan products. DRIVE TO FRANCE: After picking you up in your residence near San Sebastian, we will take a nice drive along the Basque Coast to the city of Bayonne. We will take advantage of this time to narrate about the Basque Country
TOUR BAYONNE: Walking tour in Bayonne: visit the XIIth century Cathedral, chocolate stores (Jambon de Bayonne), old port, historic streets and Market; time for a coffee break!
TOUR BIARRITZ: walking city tour, learn all about the Grand Plage, Hotel du Palais, Saint Eugenie Church, Rocher de la Vierge (virgin), fisherman’s port, and classy shops
LUNCH INCLUDED: We will have a three courses lunch in a nice restaurant near the beach
TOUR SAIN JEAN DE LUZ: walk along Rue Gambeta enjoying its typical basque stores of piment d’espelete, espardilles, macarons and more. Walk the old port and along the beach
COASTAL DRIVE BACK: Finally we will head back to San Sebastian passing through some beautiful towns like Oiartzun, Errenteria and Pasaia.
