About this experience

With this 5-6 hours long tour we intend to introduce you to the most important cultural and historical heritage of the Capital City: the remains of millenniums old Illyrian and Roman settlements, the monumental heritage from socialist period, churches from both medieval and modern age, the fortress and the old town dating back to Ottoman period as well as with famous city locations and details of modern Podgorica.

The tour is designed as a combination of walking and driving so that we can have the best look into everything planned within the tour. A visit to the museum of Marko Miljanov, a celebrated Montenegrin warrior, writer and philosopher, would be a memorable experience.

While on this tour we will have a chance to enjoy the view from one of the nearby lookouts, to take a ride down the slopes of Kuci Mountain Massif and we surely won’t miss the opportunity to dip our hands into clear waters of Cijevna river and enjoy walk along its very interesting riverbed.

Walking through the wider center of the city core of Podgorica, we will get to know the old part of the city, walk along the banks of its rivers, cross several bridges, get acquainted with the most important cultural heritage and contemporary lifestyle.

The Church of the Resurrection of Christ is one of the largest Orthodox churches in the world. The exterior and interior are very interesting, with more than 6000 square meters of frescoes and mosaics

Represents the most important archaeological site from the period of Roman domination on the territory of Montenegro. with visible remains concentrated in the center of the former Roman city (municipium), it testifies to the highly organized way of life in that period and will tell you the story of the beginnings of the development of settlements in this area

Located on an elevation in the hills above Podgorica, it offers a beautiful view of the plain around Podgorica and bears witness to the historical period when the Illyrians inhabited this area, but also to the period of Turkish domination and the Montenegrins' struggle for freedom. We will visit the museum dedicated to the Montenegrin writer, warrior and mayor of Podgorica Marko Miljanov and learn more about the traditional values of Montenegrin society and the centuries-old struggle for freedom.

For the end of the tour, we left a visit to Cijevna river, its unique narrow canyon that reminds many in certain parts of the canyon in Colorado and its waterfalls known as Niagara. It will be a great opportunity to taste some of the famous Podgorica wines near the largest vineyard in Europe.
