About this experience

This is the tour that combines very interesting cultural heritage of the area around Skadar Lake as well as the natural beauty of the Skadar Lake National Park.
There is a huge number of significant cultural and historical monuments, monasteries, old villages with authentic architecture, medieval fortifications in a small area. You will get to know the character of the local population, the culture of living on the shores of the largest lake in the Balkans where fishing and wine production are particularly interesting. A special stamp on the rich cultural heritage is given by the wonderful nature and spectacular landscapes of the Skadar Lake National Park.
Surrounded by water lilies, you will enjoy a relaxing ride on the lake in a small boat, observing numerous birds for which Lake Skadar is one of the most beautiful and important habitats in Europe.

The medieval capital of Montenegro was built in the 15th century on a hill in the immediate vicinity of Lake Skadar. An easy walk leads to the fortress, which offers a wonderful view in all directions. The lake, meadows, horses, birds, domestic animals will complete the experience of the rural areas of Montenegro and the surroundings of Lake Skadar.

Just 20 minutes away from Podgorica there is Skadar Lake, the largest lake in the Balkans, the area proclaimed national park, enlisted as Ramsar wetland of international importance, famous for its birds( about 270 species), fish, water lilies, rich cultural heritage, charming villages and the best Montenegrin wine. We will be driving around the lake, have a short walk in the charming settlement called Virpazar, enjoying the view form nice viewpoints and beautiful boat ride among lilies and birds.

The charming little town on the shore of Lake Skadar was once an important trading post, and now it is the most visited destination of the national park, where most boat cruises depart. It is the venue of probably the most popular traditional festival dedicated to wine and bleak fish.

In terms of architecture, probably the most impressive village in Montenegro. With its connected and densely packed houses, architectural details, babbling streams, small wineries, it represents a special cultural but also gastronomic experience.
