Willem Wilmink, (Enschede, 25 October 1936 – 2 August 2003) was a Dutch poet and writer. He was best known for the large number of songs he wrote for popular children programs and his accessible, straightforward poetry.

The Oude Markt is a must-visit for shopaholics. Walk around in the day and you’ll find coffee shops, high street shops, bars, theatres, and more. While you’re walking around, check out the fire monument in front of the Grote Kerk. The monument commemorates the great city fire of 1862.
