The Brink is the beating heart of central Deventer! Here you'll find countless pubs, restaurants, interesting shops and The Waag as a prominent, monumental historic building.

De Waag Museum is a good place to start getting to know Deventer. The museum showcases the rich history of this market town, fortified stronghold and industrial center through a collection of famous artifacts.

At the end of the 10th century, coins were produced in this building. Only prosperous cities were allowed to produce coins at the time. The building produced its final coin in 1708.

The Mountain Church, or Saint Nicholas Church, is a former place of worship in Deventer. This Romanesque basilica was built around 1209 and consecrated to Saint Nicholas. Centuries later it received some Late Gothic alterations.

Here you will find an old (15th century) kloostercomplex, where a sisterhood lived from 1501. The old mid-evil look is still in tact.

The sandstone façade of the historical Town Hall features a staircase and the coats of arms of the Imperial Hanseatic City of Deventer and the diocese of Utrecht. The building style is Classicistic and hails from the late 17th century, designed by Jacobus Roman.
