About this experience

This is a day trip to one of the most beautiful, and biggest lake of Tajikistan, Iskanderkul lake. The lake named after Alexander the Great (known as Iskander in the East), that makes it more interesting to visit. You are not just going to visit this lake alone, however you will visit Snake lake, walk to powerful Fann mountains waterfall famous as Fann's Niagara. Besides that, all the way from Dushanbe to Iskanderkul lake and back, you will enjoy great landscapes and sceneries of Fann mountains range, Varzob Gorge and rivers. Take a boat trip to see most of the lake. You can swim in the lake also. Eat your lunch right at the edge of the lake in a well-located Cafe wwith best views on the lake and mountains. Meet with our tour guide in your hotel lobby at 09:00. And start driving to Iskanderkul lake

Arrival in Iskanderkul lake around 12:00.

According to legend, Lake Iskanderkul was named after Alexander the Great, known in the East as Iskander. It is said that the path of Alexander the Great to India passed through this lake.

Stroll around the lakes, and you also can swim in the lake if you wish. You can have lunch in a cafe located at the lake.

There are also operating boats on which you can take a boat trip of the lake.

Later visit Snake lake that is situated in some steps away from Iskanderkul lake. From here best view for Iskanderkul lake opens.

After that, you will walk to a 50-meter waterfall, which the locals compare with Niagara and call the Fann Niagara (Niagara Fana). The lake covers 4 km2 , and the depth is 72 m.

After exploring the lake return back to Dushanbe. Arrival in your hotel. End of tour.
