The Monastery of Santa Maria da Vitória, also called Batalha Monastery, is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful works of Portuguese and European architecture.

This exceptional architectural ensemble resulted from the fulfillment of a promise made by King D. João I, in gratitude for the victory in Aljubarrota, a battle fought on August 14, 1385, which secured the throne and guaranteed the independence of Portugal.

The works lasted for more than 150 years, through several phases of construction. This duration justifies the existence, in his artistic proposals, of Manueline (predominant) Gothic solutions and a brief Renaissance note. Several additions were introduced in the initial project, resulting in a vast monastic ensemble that currently features a church, two cloisters with outbuildings and two royal pantheons, the Founder's Chapel and the Imperfect Chapels.

National monument, part of the World Heritage List defined by UNESCO, since 1983.

The Sanctuary of Fátima, entitled by the Catholic Church as Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fátima, is a Marian shrine dedicated to Our Lady of Fátima, located in Cova da Iria, in the city of Fátima.
The Sanctuary of Fátima is, par excellence, a place of Christian pilgrimage and Catholic devotion, preserving the memory of the events that led to its foundation, namely the apparitions of Our Lady to the three shepherds - Lúcia dos Santos, Francisco and Jacinta Marto - in 1917 Its magnitude and relevance from a religious point of view has long been widely recognized, nationally and internationally. It is also one of the most important Marian sanctuaries in the world and a major international destination for religious tourism, receiving around six million visitors a year. He was distinguished with three papal gold roses and visited by Popes Paulo VI (1967), João Paulo II (1982, 1991 and 2000), Benedict XVI (2010) and Francisco (2017).
Its construction started in 1919.
