Your first visit of the day is Swayambhunath stupa which is also popularly known as Monkey temple. The site consists of a stupa, a variety of shrines and temples, some dating back to the Licchavi period. Swayambhunath is among the oldest religious sites in Nepal. Although the site is considered Buddhist, It is visited by both Buddhist & Hindus. The stupa has Buddha's eyes and eyebrows painted on. You can find some shops, restaurants & hostels in the site.

Your second visit of the day is Bouddhanath Stupa which is another holiest place for Buddhist. It is located on what was a major trade route between Nepal & Tibet. There are at least 29 Tibetan Gompas & Monasteries around Bouddhanath. The culture there is very much Himalayan with a strong influence of Tibetans & Sherpas as you can evidence the number of restaurants selling momos, thukpa & other Tibetan food. Bouddhanath is also considered as the largest Stupa in Asia. This site is one of the hottest stop for tourist as well as locals.

Pashupatinath temple which can be considered as the holiest place for Hindus all around the World. The largest temple in Nepal stretches on both sides of the Bagmati River which is considered holy by Hindus. Cremation of Hindus take place on raised platforms along the river. Only Hindus are allowed inside the gate of main temple. As this is the temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, there are some daily rituals followed in the temple which is another reason this site is center of energy with active participation of people every day.
