Our journey starts with a relaxing coffee in the delightful village of Calles, a hidden gem nestled in the Spanish countryside. Stroll through its charming streets and take in the sights, including the impressive historic church and the quirky, much-loved “Frog Fountain”, a favourite among locals and visitors alike. It’s the perfect way to ease into the day and soak up the authentic charm of rural Spain.

2

We begin our walk along the Fluvial section, a stunning riverside trail where you’ll experience the beauty of fast-flowing rapids, the refreshing sounds of nature, and rich historical sights. Along the way, we’ll visit a 19th-century mill that hides a surprising and colorful mural inside, and explore ancient caves once used for food storage during the Arabic era—an atmospheric step back in time.

Wander through a tranquil corridor of eucalyptus trees, soaking in the fresh forest air, before we pause beside the river to enjoy a peaceful picnic lunch surrounded by nature

3

Step back in time as you explore one of Spain’s most picturesque white towns, known for its timeless beauty and authentic Andalusian charm. This village is famous for the Ruta de los Lavaderos—a scenic route featuring historic stone washhouses and fountains once used by locals for washing clothes, offering a glimpse into traditional village life.

We’ll pause for a refreshing drink in the vibrant main Plaza

4

After our drink we depart from Chelva in the direction of the Roman aqueduct pass through olive groves and get and get fantastic views looking back on the town.

There are also almond trees which can be in floer depending on the season and during the breeding season we also see deer.

The 2000 year old aqueduct is breath taking and the tunnels carved out of rocks will also impress you. Finally we descend through a lovely ravine back to the village in Chelva where we started. In total the walk is about 10 miles, 16km
