In the morning we head to Sinaia to visit the royal summer residence. Peles Castle was built at the end of 1800s at the foothills of Bucegi Mountains and remained one of the favorite summer residences of the Romanian Royal Family until their forced abdication in 1947. Amazingly preserved, the Castle offers a glimpse into the sparkling life of the Romanian Royal Family.
On the way back to Brasov, stop in the quaint small town of Busteni. From here follow the path for an easy hike to Urlatoarea Waterfall in Bucegi Mountains. With its pretty high fall, the waterfall deserves its name, Urlatoarea (meaning “the Screaming One”) and can be heard through the trees way before the eyes can see it.
Our tips: easy 3 to 4 km trail, 100-200 m elevation height, total 1 to 2 hours hike on wide paths with no exposure or dangerous cliffs. This trip is suitable for families or any other groups of people that can walk slowly on various terrain for up to 2 hours.
