The Pena Palace is worthy of a true fairy tale. Located at the highest point of the Sintra mountain range, it is the result of the creative genius of King Consort D. Fernando II of Portugal, built from the ruins of a 16th century monastery, at the height of 19th century Romanticism in Portugal, with references architectural influences of Gothic, Renaissance and Moorish influences. We also highlight the park with lush forests and gardens with more than five hundred tree species from the four corners of the world.

The Historic Centre DE Sintra is a charming place, full OF palaces, ancient streets and the green Sierra de Sintra create a unique atmosphere. In the heart DA the Villa stands the National Palace, surrounded POR traditional shops, pastries and small squares full DE life. Walking POR Sintra is a dive into its history, culture and natural beauty, making this historic center one OF Portugal's most magical stines.

The arrangement of the spaces in height, the intimate organization of the open-air interior courtyards DO you hear the water running, its windows with obsolete arches and the tile coatings OF rich geometric patterns, did DE connect the characteristics of various architectural styles resulting from the remodels made by the various kings over the centuries.

This enigmatic neo-Manueline (Portuguese Gothic-Renaissance) monument is a magical place with fantastic gardens, caves, lakes and a well with a monumental spiral staircase of almost 30 meters. It is a fantasy transformed into the palatial residence of millionaire António Augusto Carvalho Monteiro (the largest coffee importer at the time) in 1892, mixing a variety of architectural styles in unexpected harmony.

Finally completed in 1910, both the palace and the four-acre enchanting garden are filled with esoteric symbols, statues of mythological figures, and a labyrinth of caves, creating a fun experience that attracts a growing number of visitors of all ages.
