The West tour takes you to the lush northwest, full of cliffs, valleys, forests, mountains, waterfalls and cows! Always far from the beaten track.

So many experiences, in just one day. Levada walk, swimming, and incredible landscapes.

Get ready to be amazed by panoramic views and explore the heart of nature, while learning all about Madeira's traditions and history.

I have the BEST vehicle for that, an UMM (open classic ex-army Portuguese jeep - it has a cover also for all weather conditions) and creativity to take you to places that you just have to see!

So, join me and let´s have fun together, exploring without stress, no Rush… as friends, fleeing the Tourist Traps and Crowds.

If the weather permits, we will walk in a section of a levada for about 30/40 minutes (optional).

We will stop 2 hours in Porto Moniz for lunch & swim (Natural Pools)

Your private tour begins with the transfer from your accommodation in my UMM (open classic ex-army Portuguese jeep - it has a cover also for all weather conditions).

Get ready to be amazed by panoramic views and explore the heart of nature, while learning all about Madeira's traditions and history.

You will have the opportunity of riding in a very relaxed safari-style tour, going to places that you just have to see!

We`ll take you off the beaten track, whenever possible, through old roads & off-road, in really remote places, hidden valleys and villages lost in the mountains, therefore it takes some time to get to each point of interest.

Along our route we will stop at all the good photo opportunities, on an exciting open jeep ride, enjoying various experiences, awakening all your senses.

At the end of the tour you will want to return and stay longer on my paradise :)

You will have the opportunity of riding in a very relaxed safari tour,
whenever possible, through old roads & off-road, all done in a very calm, safe and relaxed way, always far from the beaten track.

The morning is usually spent exploring the southwestern coastline around the areas of Ribeira Brava and the picturesque village of Ponta do Sol.

We are going to travel through the old roads, close to the amazing southwestern cliffs until we start climbing from sea level to about 1500m on Paul da Serra

Stopping in all the good photo opportunities, always in relaxed atmosphere, far from the beaten track.

Along the way you will enjoy spectacular views from an open-top army jeep, always far away from the crowds and tasteless impersonal tours.

You will be able to contemplate Ribeira Brava from a different perspective, always far from the beaten track.

We will pass through the village stopping several times for photos and explanations

Along the way we will make stops for photos & Explanations, far from the beaten track.

We will keep stopping in all the good photo opportunities, in a thrilling open top jeep ride, standing up when possible, learning about our island fauna, flora and social life!

We will make a stop for coffee in a local bar

After coffee, we start “climbing” almost from sea level to 1500m altitude, up the old roads and off-road, all done in a very calm, safe and relaxed way, to one of the west tour’s main attraction, the plateau, Paul Da Serra, where we can see the wildlife co-habiting with cattle grazing quietly

We will have to cross the only plateau in Madeira, called “Madeiran tundra” direction Porto Moniz and If the weather is good we will spend a fair amount of time up here taking in the unbelievable views from above the volcanic valleys, formed during the 3rd phase of eruptions that created Madeira island.

We will take about 45 minutes to cross the plateau.

For lunch, we will stop in Porto Moniz, where we can take a swim in the in the famous natural volcanic swimming pools of Porto Moniz or simply explore the Village

After lunch & refreshing swim we will in the afternoon come back, not by the same roads on the mountain, but crossing all the north coast villages, as Ribeira da Janela as Seixal and São Vicente, by the beautiful waterfalls who drop from this dazzling cliffs all the way to the sea

After parking your car (free parking), proceed to the front of the Hotel Pestana Gardens (near Pestana Bay), at Praia Formosa in Funchal.
