The sunset in Ria Formosa paints rich hues of red blended with oranges, purples, and it's our favorite part of the time.
The journey starts in Faro at 16h45 on the ferry to Ilha Deserta crossing the main channel of Ria Formosa Natural Park with a landscape of the birds feeding over the saltmarshes. Once arrival on Ilha Deserta, you'll have 30 minutes of free time in Ilha Deserta, so you can walk on beach, relax, enjoy a drink in Restaurant Estaminé and/or go for a swim. Afterwards the journey back will be at sunset, either with the ferry or the speedboat, depending on time of the year and time the sun sets. After picture taken, we had back to Faro.
Our guide will meet you at Porta Nova Pier for a one-hour boat tour through the natural channels of Ria Formosa. The experience focuses on the unique nature of the Natural Park, with slow navigation to observe the landscape, the salt marshes and the local birdlife. As we reach the wider lagoon area, the boat will pause so you can enjoy the colours of the sunset reflecting on the water. It’s a calm and scenic end to the day, perfect for relaxing and taking photos before returning to Faro.
Once you arrive on the pier, passed the firefighters, you'll find our staff dressed in yellow shirts.
To exchange your ticket, on the pier of departure, go to the yellow boot from "Animaris" or "Ilha Deserta".
