At the Uyshi workshop, you will gain firsthand experience of the processes involved in producing the traditional Karakalpak yurt. Additionally, you'll witness carpet weavers creating beautiful strips to adorn the yurt’s framework and interior.
Another village, Khalkabad, features authentic Karakalpak houses with flat roofs. This charming place is located near a canal where reeds flourish. The local residents are skilled in harvesting these reeds and crafting reed mats known as "shiy," used for yurt decoration.
During your visit, you'll participate in a master class on traditional Karakalpak bread-making and learn how to prepare Zhuer Gurtuk from jukar flour, as well as the popular oil-fried pieces of dough known as baursaks.

9:00 - We will pick you up from your hotel or another location you require and will depart from Nukus to Chimboy (~60 km).
10:00-11:00 - Upon arrival, meeting with the family of the Uyshi workshop (yurt maker's workshop).

11:20 – Upon arrival, participate in a master class on baking bread, making oil-fried dough local snacks - baursaks, and local specialty - Zhuer Gurtuk dish.

14:00-16:00 – Masterclass from the craftswomen of reed mats (shievs).
16:00– Meet with village life by walking around.
