Departure from Biarritz, in front of the Cité de l'Océan. We will cross the french Basque Countryside aboard our VW Combi, to rich our first stop. During this time, your guide will introduce you to the Basque Country culture and traditions.
We will make a first stop in the charming village of Sare, located at the spanish border. You will discover our tradition of Kintoa ham and delicatessen products (chorizo, lomo, saucisson and so on…), followed by a tasting.
We will finish our tour by visiting the lovely village of Espelette, famous for its red peppers. This trendy condiment, very appreciated by French chefs, hangs on all the house fronts in the village! Annie, an Espelette pepper farmer, will welcome us in her shop for a tasting of local specialties made with this condiment. Enjoy the tasty atmosphere of Espelette with free time in the village, before heading back to Biarritz!
We will then head to Itxassou, to visit the farm of Mirentxu the shepherd, to discover her work, her sheep and the famous Ossau Iraty cheese. Taste the flavors of this local cheese…with a touch of Black cherry jam! This is a way we eat it here!
