Your adventure begins with a scenic tuk-tuk ride from your hotel to Materuni Village, offering a unique and local way to experience the beautiful countryside on your way to the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro. Along the way, enjoy views of rural life and the lush greenery that surrounds the village.

Once you arrive at Materuni Village, your guide will lead you on a hike to the stunning Materuni Waterfalls. The trail winds through coffee and banana farms, with plenty of opportunities to learn about local plants and culture. The hike is moderate and suitable for most fitness levels, and the reward is a breathtaking view of the waterfall cascading over 80 meters into a clear mountain pool — an ideal spot to rest, take photos, and enjoy the fresh, cool air.

After visiting the stunning Materuni Waterfalls and enjoying an immersive coffee experience with the local Chagga community, we continue our adventure with a scenic drive to Chemka Hot Springs. The drive takes approximately 2 hours, passing through local villages and beautiful landscapes along the way — offering a glimpse of everyday life in rural Tanzania.

Upon arrival at Chemka Hot Springs (also known as Kikuletwa Hot Springs), you’ll find a true hidden gem — a natural geothermal oasis nestled in the middle of the savannah. The crystal-clear, warm turquoise waters are surrounded by lush fig trees and shaded by hanging vines, creating a magical and serene environment.

Here, you’ll have plenty of time to swim, float, and relax in the refreshing natural pools. Whether you choose to dive into the clear waters or simply unwind along the banks, it’s a perfect way to cool off and enjoy nature after your hike.
