Also known as the Castle of Kefalonia, the castle was built 800 years ago on a hill 320 metres high, at a distance of 7 km NA of Argostoli. The Castle used to be the capital of Kefalonia for centuries. From 1500 the Venetian conquerors of Kefalonia built, in the 16 acres of the Castle, public buildings such as headquarters, residence of the Prophet and advisers, barracks, warehouses, prisons and tanks

WE WILL vist Kefalonia Island is well known for its quality products. In tastekefalonia we offer Extra Virgin Olive Oil from our own olive mill, Robolla wine from our vineyards and honey from our bee hives on mountain Ainos. Learn about the traditional process of making Kefalonian olive oil at Liocharis Kefalonia Olive Mill and sample some of the finest extra virgin olive oil produced in the region.

3

Divino Winery was established in 1996 by a local oenologist. It produces more than ten wine labels and three types of vinegar, with its highlight being rose vinegar. It is a traditional recipe from Kefalonia that is flavored with rose petals from a specific variety of the plant brought by the Ottomans.Part of the winery is housed in a preserved building that dates back to the 16th century. However, all the equipment for wine and vinegar production is of high quality and state-of-the-art technology.Apart from purchasing the products, visitors have the chance to visit the museum of the winery. There, they can discover the island’s long history through items, artifacts and wine-making tools. Most are 200 to 300 years old and come from the old home and winery of the founder’s family or donations. Wine tasting also takes place in the museum area, and tours are available for groups or individuals. During the months of harvest and production, an on-site showcase of the process can be attended.
