You love to get a glimpse of Kilimanjaro the top of Africa aka the highest free-standing mountain in the world, but your time, physical and financial ability don't allow you to get to the summit? Let Pinnacle Adventures & Safaris bring you this chance by offering you 1-day trek on a private basis which you can start on any day of the year.
The short treks are geared for people who like to hike but reaching the summit isn't a "must-do", and allow one to experience the excitement of hiking on the highest peak on the African continent. All trekkings inside of the Tanzania National Park require the services of certified guides, and at the moment, the Marangu, Shira and Machame Route are the only three routes where short treks are allowed.

Your guides and porters prepare and pack the supplies at the gate. After registering at the gate office, you start your ascent and enter the lush mountain forest. There is a possibility of rain in the forest, which will transform the trail into a soggy, muddy and slippery but memorable experience. You will finally reach the Machame camp where you enjoy a stunning panorama of the Kilimanjaro region's landscapes and where you enjoy your lunch in nature. After lunchtime, you will hike back to the park gate and return to Moshi town.

This plateau stretches out over 13 kilometres to the west of Kibo, at an elevation of 3 962 metres. Placed on the slopes of Kilimanjaro, the Shira Plateau shows the remains of an ancient caldera, a volcanic crater that expired around half a million years ago. Today, it stands as a World Heritage Site. These are wonderfully framed near the Kibo Massif, which resembles twisted, modern sculptures.

Choose from a variety of one to four-day hikes in the area, around different tracks. Every track offers the chance to encounter wildlife from the neighbouring Amboseli National Park, across the border in Kenya. Walk along paths treaded by herds of massive elephant, eland antelope, buffalo, and even lions.

Longer hikes offer the opportunity to witness a variety of rolling and winding landscapes. Admire the plateau’s silvery glaciers and rocky ridges, and the Lemosho forest with lush, rainforest valleys.
Every hike promises incredible views of Kilimanjaro’s peaks on clearer days.
