Soon after your hotel pick up by a qualified tour guide driver, you will be taken to the newly '' the Long March to Freedom'' which used to have its home in Pretoria. It has a new home in Cape Town in the Suburb of Century City approximately 10Km away from the City Centre. Long March to Freedom is a monumental procession of 100 life-size bronze statues of Iconic individuals and the largest exhibition of its kind anywhere in the world. The detailed sculptures of South African and international personalities, some famous and others unknown, tell the story of South Africa's 350-year struggle for freedom and democracy through the lives of those depicted. Beginning in 1652 with the establishment of the Dutch East India settlement in Cape Town and ending in 1994 with the country's first democratic elections. It is the outdoor sculptural display of individuals in the world and uses public art to celebrate the country's heritage while giving visitors the opportunity to learn about South Africa
