Stop 2 Pass by

We leave the city of Salzburg driving south to the German boarder, your private guide will explain you the history of the city of Salzburg and how, for many years, it was a independent principality ruled by the catholic church and the importance of salt and how it influenced the growth of the city. Other points of interest will be explained on route to the next location.

Stop 3

On our way to Obersalzberg bus terminal we will have a couple of great picture stops. Your private guide will show you where everything was located between 1933 and 1945. Places such as the Berghof grounds, entrance to the bunkers, SS barracks and much more. After giving you a mental picture and spacial orientation of the mountain, a scale model at the bus terminal will help you understand where everything was located.

Stop 4

Visit the Eagle Nest with your private guide. From the Eagle’s Nest bus terminal. You will board a specially equipped mountain bus for a breath-taking ride up the 4 mile road, with its 27% incline to a rocky plateau. From there we will walk through a 406ft (124 meter) long tunnel, leading us directly to the original WWII brass elevator that will transport you up through the heart of the Kehlstein mountain for another 406ft, straight into the Eagle’s Nest itself. After a tour through the Eagle’s Nest, you will have some free time to enjoy the view or have refreshments.

Stop 5

Descending from Obersalzberg we continue to the beautiful Bavarian mountain town of Berchtesgaden, located in the Koenigssee River valley. You will have time to explore Berchtesgaden on your own, as well as have lunch in one of the typical Bavarian restaurants (lunch not included in price)

Stop 6

In the afternoon, explore the underground world of a 500 year old salt mine. Your guide will organize everything for you and an expert local guide will take you on this adventure. (Only miners are allowed to guide inside the mine)
