About this experience

This tour will take you to beautiful viewpoints and amazing views inside the island.
The first stop is at Pico dos Barcelos, where you can admire a wonderful view over Funchal Bay and the city area, then we will take the old narrow road through the eucalyptus forest until Eira do Serrado.
On this viewpoint (1094m.) you will have spectacular views overlooking the valley of Curral das Freiras surrounded by green, overwhelming mountains. The journey continues to Monte - village in the suburbs of Funchal, visit the enchanting gardens and the church, built in the 18th century. You also can take an exciting ride down to Funchal (until Livramento) on the famous wicker basket - toboggan -, a traditional transport originated in the early 19th century (this is optional and paid locally).
On this tour we will also visit a wine cellar (except on holidays) where you can taste the different varieties of Madeira wine, the famous fortifies wine produced in the island since the 17th century.

Enjoy an splendid panoramic view over Funchal bay and the city area at this viewpoint, approximately at 335m above the sea level.

After visit Pico dos Barcelos, we will take the old narrow road through the eucalyptus forest until Eira do Serrado. On this viewpoint (1094m.) you will have spectacular views overlooking the valley of Curral das Freiras surrounded by green, overwhelming mountains, from here you can also admire the tiny fields which grow fruit and vegetables, also sweet chestnut trees.
