Excavations here have revealed artifacts dating from 3500 BC (Late Chalcolithic) to 3000 BC (Early Bronze Age). The cave was formed over 2.5 million years ago, during the Pliocene Period. The roof collapsed, allowing entrance. The maximum depth is 14 metres and inside there are several rimstone pools and waterfalls, which are thought to be beneficial in the treatment of skin diseases and arthritis. Several of the walls receive enough sunlight to grow moss and climbing plants. The cave will take around 20 minutes to explore, with wooden walkways leading through the 190-metre circle.
