Bryggen, the old wharf of Bergen, is a reminder of the town's importance as part of the Hanseatic League's trading empire from the 14th to the mid-16th century.

The picturesque Fish Market in Bergen is one of Norway's most visited outdoors markets. The Fish Market sells seafood, fruit and vegetables.

Bergen was the capital of Norway until 1299, and during that period Bergenhus was the court of the Norwegian kings.

The tower was the residence of the last two kings who ruled Norway from Bergen, King Magnus Lagabøte and his eldest son, King Eirik Magnusson.

St Mary`s church is the oldest existing building in Bergen. To judge by its architectural style, it was probably built between 1130 and 1170.

It is a 7-meter-high memorial to the Norwegian sailors through the ages, and this monument is located in the main square of the city.

The current station was built in 1913 as the terminal station for Bergensbanen. The station building has been protected as a monument since 2003

The open square by Lille Lungegårdsvann has been a venue for the Festival opening ceremony, been the place for festival tents with events for adults and children.

Håkon's Hall was built between 1247 and 1261 by Håkon Håkonsson. It was the largest of the royal residency in the 13th-century.

Well, it's a life-size statue. Edvard Grieg was very short, only 1m 52cm, about 5 feet, tall. But he was a great artist, one of the most famous Norwegians.

Nykirken (literally The new church) is a cruciform church originally built in 1621 on the site of the ruins of the home of the archbishop.

St. John's Church was built between 1891 and 1894 in the Gothic Revival style. With 1250 seats, it is the largest church in Bergen.
