We will drive for about 25 minutes starting from our meeting point and will arrive at the National History Museum. The building itself has its own history related to the Communist past. We will go through the different exhibition halls together, starting from prehistoric ages, learn about who are the Thracians, discover about the Cyrillic alphabet, Bulgarian National Revival and how Bulgaria turned into a Socialist state.
Having spent about 1 1/2 hour we'll drive for 10 minutes to reach Boyana church - one of the UNESCO sites in Bulgaria.
The Boyana church is a museum revealing to us the quality of the pre-Renaissance art through the frescoes from the 13th century. During the 35-45 minutes spent at the site we will discover about the Palaiologan dynasty from the Byzantine Empire and how it affected the religious art development in Bulgaria. We are also going to discover the secret of Boyana church. Having finished our visit we will drive back to the city center for approximately 25 minutes.
