“Icheri Sheher” (Old City), known as "the fortress" - a unique historical and architectural preserve in the center of Baku. One of the oldest and densely populated areas of the country and even in the Middle East. The the most famous historical monuments - Maiden Tower and Shirvanshah Palace (13th-16th century) are located in the Old City. Also, there are many other unique monuments exist in Old City (Icheri Sheher): mosques, minarets, remnants of caravanserais such as "Multani" and "Bukhara", ancient baths etc. A lot of shops with souvenirs, where you can buy traditional clothing, scarves and hats, pottery and handmade carpets. Walk down the street of Nizami (old Shopping street with lots of souvenirs shops), fountain square, visit the shopping center "Park Bulvar" and other boutiques.
