Get ready for a MEMORABLE Day.
Leaving ponta Delgada our first stop will be at Miradouro Santa Iria, to enjoy a beautiful view of the northern coast line of the island. An important batlle took place here between two brothers.

Visit to the only Industrial Tea Factory in Europe, non stop production since 1883, where you will learn all about the process of Tea growing as well as taste the famous Azorean Black or Green Tea.
An infusion of flavors and sents that transports us to another time and place.

At Pico do Ferro we admire the panoramic view of the entire crater, including the village and the Furnas Lake

Stop 4

Lagoa das Furnas observing how and where it’s made the traditional “cozido das furnas” – furnas stew, in underground holes taking profit from the hot steaming geysers. Lunch Break at Furnas Village (reservation is mandatory. Lunch not included).
After lunch we visit the Caldeiras area, were we will find boiling waters, volcanic springs of hot water and thermal springs as well as cold springs of carbonated waters in this huge volcanic crater valley called FURNAS

Time for a relaxing medicinal bath in the Hot Pools naturally heated at 39ºC. Filled with iron waters, these pools were once, the exclusive SPA of the royalty and included the first casino ever built in the Island.
If you prefer, you may change the baths for a stroll in the Botanical Garden where abound tropical botanical species and a collection of more than 200 species of camelias.

The "Cozido das Furnas" cooked under the ground with the volcanic heat, unique flavor and gastronomic specialty of our Island, the white cheese seasoned with the local red pepper and the unmistakable pineapple slice from the Azores could not be missing for desert.
A true delicacy of the gods.

After lunch we visit the Caldeiras area, were we will find volcanic springs of boiling water and thermal springs as well as cold springs of carbonated waters in this huge hydropolis with 22 different types of water.

One last Stop at Vila Franca do Campo for a degustation of one of the most ancient and tipical sweets from S Miguel Island, the Queijadas da Vila (optional)
This sweet and coffee will take place at the factory that produces the cheesecakes according the old recipie from the nuns of St Andreas Convent, whose secret is kept under lock and key, but it doesn't matter because it's something to eat and cry for more.
