About this experience
Discover what exactly are these osmizas? Osmizas are places where local wines (Terrano, Vitovska, and Malvasia) and traditional foods (eggs, sausages, salamis, and cheeses) can be bought and enjoyed just where they are produced. In 1784 peasants were allowed to sell foods and wines they raised and produced right in their cellars. In the region of Trieste, there are about 50 osmizas. On this tour, we will take you to the best, carefully chosen osmizas, the traditional farmhouse where you'll be able to taste authentic homemade products and local wines in a friendly, rustic atmosphere.

Meet your guide in the center of Trieste.

Head to the countryside where you will have the opportunity to taste delicious Italian homemade products and wine. Admire the stunning natural scenery of the Karst Plateau as you drive out into the countryside.
Make your way through small traditional villages, you will stop at various osmizas on the way and learn about the history of this Slovenian-influenced tradition that dates back to the 18th century.
You will taste different cured meats, cheese, and egg and of course, you will try various local wines.
After the tour, your guide will take you back to Trieste center.
