In this adventure, an experienced guide will help you explore the fauna and flora of our beautiful region as we search for the whale sightings that have been occurring along the coast in recent days. You’ll learn about the reasons behind these giants’ journey to our peaceful shores and may have the chance to spot these lovely whales with their adorable giant calves!
To make the experience even richer, the guide will share fascinating historical insights about our coastline. Possibly passing by ancient remnants of the Sambaqui peoples, as well as old whale-oil structures and indigenous watercraft, such as the traditional “canoa de um pau só” (dugout canoe).

On the day of the tour, we’ll know where the whales are and head out to meet them — whether in Imbituba, Garopaba, or Laguna!
During the experience, besides finding the whales, we’ll also explore the history of the old whaling stations and may even spot a traditional Canoa Baleeira — once used for whale hunting and now part of artisanal fishing traditions. This canoe can be found in Garopaba, Laguna, or Imbituba, depending on where the whales are.
We’ll also uncover stories of the Indigenous Peoples of our region, possibly observing ancient Sambaqui burial sites and even the largest Indigenous artifact still in use today — the Canoa de um Pau Só (dugout canoe). These sightings may also occur in Laguna, Imbituba, or Garopaba, depending on where the whales are.
