Your local expert guide will give you a brief history of this architectural wonder, which was a church, a mosque, and a museum before being converted into a mosque. Then, inside, marvel at the vast central dome and the fusion of Christian and Islamic traditions, still evident in surviving mosaics and marble fragments. Your guide will highlight significant features, such as the Lustration Urns. As this is a house of prayer, all visitors are requested to adhere to the dress code in force (shoulders and knees covered, women with their hair covered) and to remove their shoes at the door. We facilitate a respectful and informed visit.

Your guide will lead you to the courtyard of the iconic Blue Mosque (Sultanahmet Mosque) to admire its six towering minarets and cascading domes before entering.

Inside, travelers will spend up to an hour marveling at the dome's sweeping interior, known for its 20,000 handmade Iznik tiles decorated with tulip, carnation, and lily patterns. Your guide will explain the mosque’s unique Ottoman architecture and historical significance. As a functioning place of worship, all visitors must follow the dress code: shoulders and knees covered, women's hair covered, and shoes removed upon entry. Visitor entry is restricted during prayer times.

Your guide will take you through the impressive Topkapi Palace, which served as the main home and administrative center for the Ottoman Sultans for almost 400 years.

On this tour, you will visit the four main courtyards, each showing a different part of the imperial way of life. Some highlights are the impressive Imperial Treasury, where you can see the famous Topkapi Dagger and the Spoonmaker's Diamond, as well as the sacred Holy Relics section.

You can also visit the beautiful Imperial Harem. Please note that entry to the Harem often requires a separate ticket, and your guide will let you know if it is included in your tour. Your guide will share the history behind the ceremonies, power struggles, and daily life of the Ottoman dynasty, bringing the stories of the sultans, courtiers, and concubines to life.

Head underground to explore the huge Basilica Cistern, Istanbul's largest ancient water reservoir. It was built in the 6th century during the Byzantine era.

Your guide will take you through this dimly lit space, supported by 336 marble columns that each stand 9 meters tall. You will hear about how the cistern supplied water to the Great Palace and see its impressive design.

One of the main highlights is the famous column bases carved with Medusa Heads in upside-down and sideways Positions in a far corner. Your guide will tell you the myths and stories about why they are there, making this a memorable and slightly eerie visit under the city.

At the end of the tour, we will drive you back to Galata Port, the Airport, or your hotel.
