You will be picked up from your accommodation in Cape Town between 07:30am and 08:00am - Please can you kindly wait in the hotel lobby. We will travel to the Nelson Mandela Gateway to Robben Island, where you will proceed directly to the boat departures line. Once you have boarded the shared boat you will set sail on the open sea to Robben Island Museum. Upon your arrival, you will disembark the boat and be guided on a bus by a resident Robben Island Tour Guide for a tour of the island. The guide will provide live commentary about Robben Island and its history. The tour will culminate with a view of the prison cell where former President Nelson Mandela was held as a prisoner and an opportunity to take a walk in his historical footsteps on The Long March to Freedom. Once the tour of Robben Island has concluded, you will embark the boat for your return back to the V&A Waterfront. The entire tour duration including the boat trips is approximately 4-hours.
Upon arrival at the V&A Waterfront from your Robben Island tour experience, enjoy lunch at one of the restaurants in the Waterfront - Ask your tour guide for recommendations.
After lunch, enjoy a short city tour and see some historical monuments like Bartholomew Dias, Jan van Riebeeck and Zackarias Waganaer Reservoir.
Arrive in the Bo-Kaap, we will stop for a photo opportunity with the historical colorful houses. (Please remain in close proximity to your tour guide and keep your belongings with you at all times.) The area was formerly known as the Cape Malay Quarter, and it is here that you will have the opportunity to buy some Malay spices and/or taste some Malay foods like Samoosas, Melktert (Milk Tart), and Koeksisters (own account). Your tour guide will share stories of the history of the colorful houses.
End the tour with a stop at Table Mountain, where we will take the Cable Car to the top of the mountain. Here visitors will be given a guided tour of the mountain and see Cape Town from a different dimension. Table Mountain is known as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature and displays breathtaking views from this interesting mountain range. Thereafter, we will drop you off at your accommodation in Cape Town.
