The Terracotta Warriors are considered as one of the eighth wonder in the world. Since their discovery in 1974, more than 8,000 soldiers, 670 horses, and 130 chariots have been unearthed. Each warrior is unique, with distinct facial features and heights, though the average height is 6 feet (1.85 meters). Now there are total 3 pits covering over 22,000 square metres where all these warriors are buried and 1 hall for the bronze chariots and horses.
The Big Wild Goose Pagoda was built in 652AD. It was built to store the scriptures and statues Master Xuanzang had brought back from India. You will have an acquaintance with the Buddhist temple in China and the pagoda, and get to know how did the Buddhism come to China in the history. If you like, you may ascend to the top of the ancient wooden-and-brick pagoda and have a bird’s eye view of the cityscape around. Music fountain show in the the North Square is quite amazing, considered as the largest music fountain in Asia. It is nice to stroll around both north and south square of the pagoda, view the beautiful garden and local people dancing in the square sometimes.
Xi'an City Wall is one of the most extensive and best-preserved defensive walls in the world. It was renovated in Ming Dynasty, over 600years old, to defend the ancient capital against foreign invaders. A deep moat surrounds the structure, which at its base measures 15 to 18 meters thick. It stands 12 meters tall, and the 98 ramparts each had its own sentry building, allowing soldiers to protect the entire length of the wall without having to expose themselves. It is possible to ride a bike around the 14km wall.
