Dutch Town or the old town of Batavia used to be the center of Dutch rule when colonizing Indonesia, therefore in this area, there were former governor's offices, banks, hospitals, post offices, and courthouses, which are now converted into museums.

Fatahillah Museum is also known as The Jakarta History Museum. Originally built by Dutch in 1710 used for Jakarta City Hall or “Staad Huis” furnished with antique furnishing, porcelains, old map and portraits, underwater jail and other items used by former Dutch Governor-General.
