Wuzhen is a traditional water surrounded Chinese town, part of Tongxiang county, located in the north of Zhejiang Province. It is known for its ancient stone bridges, stone pathways and delicate wood carvings.
Get on the coach and join the tour commencing from Hangzhou. After 1.5-hour drive, you will reach the picturesque Wuzhen, specifically Wuzhen East Scenic Zone. First, you will visit the two halls of Ancient Bed Museum. This is China’s first museum devoted to the collection and display of antique beds, the oldest one among which dating back to Ming dynasty. Then you will be guided into a huge wine distillery, Sanbai Wine Workshop. There you will not only watch the making of Sanbai Wine, but also purchase this local liquor with soft and lasting mellowness in the front shop.
Next, proceed to the South Scenic Zone for Hongyuantai Dyeing House famous for indigo textile. There you will see the production cycle of making indigo cloth handed down through generations. In a local shadow play theatre, semi-transparent puppets move by Chinese traditional instruments will grab all your attention to that small screen. Enjoy your lunch in a local Chinese restaurant. Diversions in the afternoon will be up to your preference.
