About this experience

In this service we will learn about the colonial period and the Republican era, we will delve into the history of Peru and learn about its secrets and impressive history.

We will get to know the main port of the country. Since the beginning of the colony, Callao was the main port, where gold and silver was taken from this place that would later be transported to Spain.

The Real Felipe keeps impressive objects from our history such as the first flag that was designed by the liberator Don José de San Martin.

Our tour begins in Callao, through this interesting tour we will learn about the history of the most important port in Peru. Callao was founded by the Spanish in 1537 but soon became the main port for Spanish trade in the Pacific. During the Viceroyalty all goods produced in Peru, Bolivia and Argentina were carried by mule back to Callao. to be sent to Panama and then transported to Spain.

Stop 2

Learn about the interior of an American-made submarine acquired by the government of Peru in 1954. It was in operation until 2000, when they decided to decommission it and turn it into a museum.

We will visit the last fortress built in America by the Spanish crown "The Fortress of Real Felipe" built to protect the port of Callao from attacks by pirates and corsairs, this impressive military construction dates back to 1747 and inside it houses impressive pieces of the colonial and republican era.
